Villa Gummerson nestled on the beautiful shores of Tankha Bay in the Riviera Maya, is the perfect get-a-way location for anyone looking to spend some quality time commuting with nature while being spoiled with life's creature comforts.   This spacious, 4500 sq. ft.  newly constructed villa is a snorkelers delight, with a gorgeous Caribbean reef on one side and the fresh water Cenote Manatee right next door.  This truly is paradise found.
 

Tankha Tres is the name of the bay where Villa Gummerson is located.  It is a tropical paradise where you will be away from it all, yet close enough to all the Riviera Maya has to offer so that you will not feel stranded in paradise.  The funky town of Tulum with its' numerous restaurants, shops, beaches and famous Mayan Ruins is a short 10 - 15 minute drive to the south.  Just beyond is the Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve with 1.3 million acres of unspoiled natural beauty.  Heading in other directions there are the Mayan Ruins of Coba and Muyil less than an hour away and the incredible Mayan Ruins of Chichen Itza easily accessible for a day trip.  Snorkeling, scuba diving, golf, tennis, eco parks, jungle tours and nightlife are all just a short drive away.  (see Area Attractions)  (see Riviera Maya map)   
 

When you pull off of the Cancun - Tulum highway and onto the dirt track leading onto the beautiful shores of Tankha Tres bay, the stress of your life back home will drift away like the dust in the rear view mirror of your rental car. 

Tankha Tres Bay is a ring of white sand beach protected by an outer reef making for a shallow, protected bay that is ideal for snorkeling, kayaking and swimming.  On the bay are a number of private vacation properties, three restaurants, a dive shop and of course that warm, gin clear, blue Caribbean water. 

The backdrop to this postcard setting is a pristine mangrove jungle environment full of birds and tropical plants.  Tranquil Cenote Manatee with its warm, crystal clear, fresh water, cuts into the mangrove and allows access to this special place to those who snorkel or swim.

The Riviera Maya, Tankha Tres, and Villa Gummerson are the ideal vacation spot for anyone  who can appreciate the wonder of nature in a tropical paradise.

As you enter the property of Villa Gummerson you will see a small casita 'little house' in the courtyard.  This is where your friendly hosts, Honorio & Silvia live.  Monday through Saturday, they provide villa and pool cleaning, gardening,  maintenance  and security when you are out.  Honorio will be happy to help you in any way he can and Silvia will provide laundry and cooking services for an additional fee.

Just beyond the casita is an inviting swimming pool with conchuela marble decking, covered area to get out of the sun, chaise lounges, table & chairs and some pool  toys for the kids.

Now that you have been kissed by the warm Caribbean sun and have listened to the pool call out to you, you will want to rush inside, drop the bags, and slip into your bathing suit.

One step inside and you will truly believe that 'you have arrived'  AND..... the stress that was lost in the dust not so very long ago, has just been replaced with a new one.  "WOW... what do we do first, run out and jump in that welcoming ocean, or turn around and dive into the pool"

The home features a magnificent open foyer with gorgeous terracota and wood floors, two skylight domes, a half bath off to the side, and a winding staircase leading to the inner balcony overlooking the exquisite second floor.

The foyer opens up to a comfortable living room with vaulted ceiling and sliding glass doors leading out to a covered terrace and the beach just steps beyond.  An amoire entertainment centers houses a TV with satellite coverage, DVD/VCR player and CD player.

This living space flows into the dining area and just behind a very spacious kitchen.  The entire living/dining area is a wall of sliding glass doors so that you can fully appreciate the breathtaking view.

The dining table comfortably sits 8 and a breakfast bar between the dining area and kitchen sits 4 more.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to prepare a snack or special holiday dinner.  OR if you prefer, for an additional fee, Silvia can spoil you with her traditional Mexican culinary skills, OR with some advance notice, Honorio can line up a chef to come in for a real treat.

With a large bay window overlooking the pool and the ocean visible in the other direction, this is one kitchen nobody will mind being in.

The villa boasts 4 magnificent bedrooms.  2 of these are master suites with King beds.  One of the others has a King bed and the other bedroom has two Double beds.  An air mattress is available with advance notice if required.

Each bedroom has a private bath.  The 2 Master suites have a giant tile soaker tub, shower and double vanity.  The other two bathrooms have tile showers and single vanities.  All bedrooms have ocean-side balconies for enjoying the breathtaking views at sunrise and sunset.

As beautiful as the villa is, it will be difficult to stay inside with so much natural beauty just steps from your door.  The owners are very much aware of this and have provided those little extras you cannot appreciate until you are there. 

A kayak to explore the bay, chaise lounges to worship the sun, covered terraces to cool off under, a rooftop miradoor to fully appreciate the sunrises and sunsets, a natural grill done in mosaic tile, hammocks to swallow you up, and a beach side shower to rinse off in, are but some of the extras you will enjoy.
