Hacienda Del Mar, boasting over 8500 square feet of sophisticatedly casual luxury, is located in the extremely  desirable residential resort community of Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, just one hour south of Cancun.   (See the Riviera Maya map  

There are 6 bedrooms plus 1 den in the main villa and 2 bedrooms plus 1 den in the casita or 'little house' located at the entrance to the property.  Both of the dens are set up with beds to accommodate large groups.

 Make your entrance to the villa through a large wrought iron gate, down a long pathway flanked by palms sprouting from a manicured lawn, and up the wide entry staircase to the impressive wooden doors.  Passerby on the street can't help but wonder what lies beyond those imposing doors.  For you, it is the welcome entrance into a very special place that you will call home for the next week.
 

Passing through those doors will deliver you to another world and another time.  A world void of stress at a time when people enjoyed simple things such as laying in a hammock watching the clouds create faces, resting in the shade of a palm, or watching the waves lap upon the shore.  The aura of this house is simply that.  A place to relax, reflect, and be pampered.

The house was designed by the owners and  not only projects their love of Mexico, but reflects their extensive travels through the country.  The design is in true hacienda style with a central open air courtyard that serves as the heart of the home, with all rooms feeding off and out from here.  Large arches form a covered terrace that wraps the entire perimeter of the villa providing protection from the elements while allowing you to enjoy the open air and sky above.  Everywhere in the home Mexican antiques, artwork and pieces of regional significance are on display.  As someone who has also traveled through some of the back roads of our country, it was exciting and impressive to recognize pieces from various regions.
 

As you enter the courtyard from the main entrance on your right is the den which is set up with a King bed.  (note there is no bathroom in the den so guests must share with another bedroom)  A red brick arch ceiling adds to the airy feel of the room.

Also in this courtyard are 3 guest bedrooms.  Each of the bedrooms is air conditioned, has attached en-suite bathroom with shower and the same wonderful vaulted, brick, arch roofs as in the den. 
 

The central courtyard provides access to a hallway and a staircase which leads to the upstairs bedrooms or just go straight through this hall to the dining and living room area with terrace, and to the pool and beach just beyond.   Of course just one glimpse of that beautiful blue Caribbean water will draw you straight out of doors. 

A covered terrace provides a shady place to lounge or dine al-fresco at the two tables providing seating. 

An inviting oceanfront pool looks down upon a white sandy beach that stretches off in both directions.  The water here is quite protected by an outer reef so it is a good place for kids to play and swim.  The snorkeling right out front is very good, which will provide you with yet another reason why you won't want to return back inside.

A short stroll down the beach takes you to the Omni hotel and the commercial center of Puerto Aventuras, which is like a small village (for more on Puerto Aventuras see our Area Attractions section).
 

Dragging yourself back inside... you return to the dining/living room.  This area is large and airy with a dining table on one side of the room and a relaxing sitting area on the other. 
 

Leading off from the living area is an inviting family room with access out to the terrace and pool.  This room has a satellite TV, and game cube for the kids.
 

A wonderful oceanfront kitchen will please anyone who enjoys cooking.  But why do anything more than mix a margarita when the services of a full time cook can be enjoyed for an additional charge?  You will enjoy dining indoors or al-fresco on the covered terrace.
 

Upstairs, there are 3 sumptuous ocean front bedrooms each providing fabulous views and walk out doors to a huge oceanfront terrace that stretches the entire length of the building.  All bedrooms have attached en-suite bathrooms with showers.  Luxurious sheets on the bed and fluffy towels in the bathroom.
 

Enjoy an ocean front massage, a cocktail by the pool, or just relax in luxurious surroundings. There is a cleaning service Monday through Saturday, a cook and massages on site can be arranged for an extra charge. 
 

For larger groups there is a fully self contained spacious casita (little house) located at the property entrance.  The casita has 2 air conditioned bedrooms and a den set up with a bed.
