Designed
and built in 1995 by architect Guillermo Brueggerhoff, this fully
air conditioned spacious
5000 square foot home blends classic Colonial Spanish design with
modern Caribbean beach house living. These elements, combined
with tasteful furnishings and decor, provide the ingredients for a
most memorable vacation experience.
Entering
the lush garden entranceway from the quiet street, you will find the
manager Guille's (pronounced gee yay) cute little apartment
above the garage. Guille is bilingual and available to help
you with any problem you might have or provide you with some insiders advise on the
best restaurants in the area. A courtyard, with sitting area
and fountain, highlights the garden while providing a relaxing space
for reflection should you wish for some private time away from the
group.
The
villa lay out is set up perfectly for two families who wish to have
a great deal of privacy, with a kitchen, dining and living area on
each level. However, if you all want to be together, don't let
this floor plan scare you off, since these two areas actually
compliment each other very nicely and the flow works well between
them.

The
ground floor kitchen, dining and living areas are very casual and,
therefore, work ideally for convenient pool and beach living during
the day. The kitchen makes a perfect bar and place to prepare
lunch time snacks, while the dining and living areas double up to
provide great locations to watch TV or play a game. This
leaves the upstairs for more formal dining and relaxed mingling,
which truly enhances the spaciousness of the villa.

The
ground floor entrance has a wonderful foyer with interior staircase
leading up to the second floor and continuing on to the roof top
where you will find a wet bar, chaise lounges and of course a
fabulous view. Details such as the rich wood finishes, stained glass panels, local
art, and a red brick bobeda capped ceiling, all make the passage up
and down the stairway an enjoyable journey.
As you
enter the main floor you will find the kitchen off to your right, a
small dining table to your left, and a large open living space with
glass sliders to the poolside patio finishing off the room.
The living space is divided into two parts with a TV &
entertainment center on one side and a casual sitting area on the
other. The furnishings are wicker and cane with colorful
cushions. Numerous pieces of art help brighten the room and
provide interesting viewing. In fact, the entire house will
keep you busy discovering the owners interesting treasures all week
long.
Off to
the left of the dining area is a wing with bathroom and 2 large
bedrooms. One bedroom faces the courtyard and has twin
beds. The Master bedroom has a King bed and a walk out to the
pool area. This bedroom has attached bathroom, while the other
bedroom has a bathroom just outside the door.

The
second floor layout is similar to the main floor, but the kitchen is
much larger and more open, plus the dining area is in a
different location and much larger.
Anyone who enjoys spending
time in the kitchen will quickly make themselves at home here.
Granite counter tops, beautiful rich hardwood cabinets ,and stained
glass windows all make this an inviting space to work or
socialize.
A large
dining table with seating for 8 will be the focal point of many
memorable hours together with family and/or friends at this wonderful
villa. If you would like to experience a real Mexican meal
while you are here, we can arrange to have a Mexican woman come in
and prepare a traditional meal for you just for one evening, or for
an entire week if you
really want to live decadently.
Casually
elegant Rattan furniture, colorful local art, and the entire ocean
frontage done in glass windows and sliders, brighten this inviting
large open space. A large covered terrace across the entire
frontage offers breathtaking views and shady areas to dine, lounge, or
sit and visit. This terrace connects with the second oceanfront
Master bedroom, which is also very large and has attached
bathroom.
A large fourth
bedroom with a Queen bed is on this level and has a nice garden
view. This room has numerous fun toys and pieces of art
including an old carousel pony. While that is completely out of
place in a Mexican beach house, it somehow works perfectly in this house
of rebirth.

this beautiful villa is located, is considered a prime Akumal location (see
the S. Akumal map).

bay that is ideal for snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming. The shoreline
is mostly sandy with a few rocky
outcrops in places, but never creating a problem finding somewhere to
wade into the water. It is ideal for kids and good for beachcombing.
