 Hacienda Kaas, on Soliman Bay, is an architectural gem.   This elegant home is quite simply one of the finest on the entire Riviera Maya.  If you are looking for style, comfort, and privacy in a quiet, relaxed beach setting, then this one of a kind villa is for you.

Entering through the oversized double front doors into the spacious foyer, you are immediately taken by the classic decor.   Custom made furnishings of hardwood finished with leather and rich fabrics incorporate stylized carvings of exquisite detail. 

Floors within and on the terraces are marble, stone or tile in muted shades of terra cotta.   Wood, stone and brick accents throughout show a refined attention to detail.

Objects d'art have been carefully selected to accent the furnishings and design features to complete the decor.    The overall result is an ambiance that represents a classic and somewhat formal style that does not seem out of place in this casual beach environment.
 

Red brick domed ceilings, large arched windows framed in solid wood, ornate wrought iron work, tapestries, oil paintings, sculpture, and finely crafted furnishings all contribute to the refined old world charm of the villa.

A slightly sunken living room is centerpiece to a large and open great room.  A large screen TV with satellite receiver and stereo is inconspicuously tucked away in a massive solid wood wall unit. 

A formal dining area is perfectly placed between the living room and kitchen.   The kitchen is, of course, outfitted with everything that one would require to prepare and serve a gourmet meal.  An optional cook service is available for select meals.
 

The dining room seats eight in refined elegance.  A unique burl tree trunk with  glass top, invites dining al fresco on the adjacent covered terrace.    
 

The villa features five lovely bedrooms with attached en-suite bathrooms.  Each of the bedrooms has a sitting area and open-spacious feel.  All bedrooms have walkouts to either a terrace, patio or the rooftop viewing area.  One bedroom is on the ground floor facing the pool, three bedrooms are on the second floor sharing a large oceanfront terrace and one bedroom is on the roof.  All bedrooms have private bathrooms except the rooftop bedroom where the bathroom is located just outside the bedroom.
 

The furnishings, decor, and detail to finishing of the bedrooms is consistent with the rest of the villa, giving the entire home an air of comfortable sophistication. 
 

A rooftop viewing area not only offers unsurpassed views of Soliman bay, but is the perfect place for cocktails at sundown or late night star gazing.
 

The ocean side swimming pool is as pleasing to look at as it is to dip in to. 
 

Stone archways with and aqua duct of falling water matched with classically styled pillars leave you imagining you are at a Roman bath.  This classic architecture is a perfect match for the house. 

Chaise lounges poolside and down on the beach are strategically located so that you may enjoy the sun or shade as you wish. 
 

There is a poolside changing area  with shower, sink, and restroom.  A gas grill near the pool is just waiting for you to grill up the catch of the day. 

Just off of the pool area the sand leads down to the beach where great snorkeling awaits.   2 Double kayaks invite you to enjoy a relaxing paddle around the protected waters of Soliman Bay.

Solimon bay, where Hacienda Kaas is located, is a wonderfully private bay with only a few other vacation villas and bungalows. (see the Riviera Maya map and the Solimon Bay map)   There is no  commercial activity on the bay.  A car is recommended in case of a medical emergency and in order to access the nearby services and activities.  Solomon bay is between Tulum and Akumal, close to many interesting attractions such as the the natural water park at XelHa, dry caves at Aktun Chen, and the Mayan ruins of Tulum & Coba.  For more information on the many wonderful area attractions including restaurants and Mayan Ruins, please visit the 'Area Attractions South' section of our web site.

I recently had a reunion of my business school friends from all over the world (5 couples) in which we stayed in Hacienda Kaas.  We weren't sure how nice it would be, but we were blown away from the minute we arrived.  When we walked in, we started running around like children saying, "Can you believe this place?  It can't really be this nice."  The gardens are beautiful and wonderfully-kept and the house is grand and well-decorated (ok, a bit gothic).  The high ceilings are amazing, the bedrooms are large and unique, and the pool and beach are amazing, even down to the Iguana that spent every day in the sun with us at the pool.  Half of our reunion together was spent talking about how much we loved the house and how we couldn't wait to come again.  It is one of the more expensive houses for rent, but it's worth every penny for a group of 8 or 10.  Thank you Doug & Twyla!  Jamie Phares, August 2006
