Margarita Villa on Soliman Bay near Tulum is affordable paradise.  Nestled on a sandy beach with palm trees looking out over the crystal blue Caribbean, this truly inviting Mayan Riviera beachfront villa offers spectacular value.

Margarita Villa is an upscale, yet very reasonably priced, Mexico beach house that overlooks gorgeous Soliman Bay near Tulum.  It is ideal for families or up to 4 couples.

Margarita Villa has five extra-large bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a spacious living-dining-kitchen area, and is fully air-conditioned.   The villa is decorated with colorful Mexican tiles and gorgeous solid mahogany furniture and cabinets.

Margarita Villa is specifically setup to accept children of all ages.  The villa has a beachside zero level entry swimming pool that the kids will love.  Kayaks are provided so you can easily paddle around and  enjoy the calm bay.  A beach palapa gives great shade to hang out in and the patio furniture on the swimming pool sundeck all invite relaxing, restful, idle time.

The beach is sandy and the water shallow for quite a long way out.  The bay is protected by an outer reef which keeps it quite calm most of the time.  Snorkelling is ideal.

A cook is available upon request for an additional charge.

Margarita Villa sleeps up to 16 people.

Tranquil tropical gardens in the sand are centered around a bubbling fountain and create the street side approach to the villa.  Off of the garden, near the entry, is a tiled area with gas grill just waiting for you to prepare the fresh catch of the day.

The  palapa-covered entry leads into a beautifully tiled, fully equipped kitchen.  Separating the kitchen from the dining area is a breakfast counter with solid mahogany bar stools.  The kitchen is open to the dining and living rooms creating a spacious area with fabulous views of the pool and ocean.

A large wrap-around couch overlooks the downstairs covered deck and swimming pool. An entertainment center is provided with a large-screen TV that has satellite service.  A mahogany and glass dining room table seats eight.

The first floor includes a large bedroom overlooking the swimming pool and beach with a king-size bed and a single mattress daybed. This room has 2 sliding glass doors that provide easy access for that late night or early morning dip.  There is also a garden bedroom on the first floor with two queen-size beds that overlooks a beautiful jungle garden.  The attached bathroom has a unique outdoor shower in tropical garden like setting.

The second floor has 2 large bedrooms each with attached bathrooms.  The master bedroom is over sized with a wonderful brick dome ceiling giving it an even larger sense of grandeur.  It includes a large screen TV with satellite service and a gorgeous bathroom with double sinks.  The king size bed is dwarfed in this wonderfully decadent room.

The other bedroom has a king size bed plus a single mattress day bed.

A palapa-covered deck that overlooks the pool and beach is accessed from either bedroom through floor to ceiling sliding glass doors.  A cozy sitting area provides an inviting place to stare out dreamily at the ocean.

On the rooftop is the 5th bedroom with the most amazing view.  This very large self contained suite has a couch which a child can sleep on.  The rooftop deck at this level has an amazing view of the ocean on one side and mangrove estuary on the other.

We are happy to share a few GUESTS COMMENTS from past guests of this villa:

Hi Doug,  We had a fantastic time at Margarita Villa.  Everybody who helped us was great.  The Chef was amazing and Rosa the property manager was very, very helpful.  We loved the location, the privacy and the house.  Thank you so much for all your help.  We actually stopped by Puerto Aventuras and wanted to go meet you but the restaurant we ate at took so long to get our food that we had little time to get to our car rental place and head to the airport.  There was an accident on the highway and thought we would be late for our flight but all worked out.  I’m sorry we didn’t get to meet you.  Maybe next time.  Thank you again!  Ana

Desiree:  Our entire family had a wonderful time at Margarita Villa.  Your staff – Paco, Sara, Rosa – were terrific.  The Villa is beautiful and so comfortable.  We spent most of time around the pool enjoying the breeze. As the week went on, we were so relaxed that we didn’t want to go anywhere else.  The only drawback (which you had no control of) was the pile up of seaweed as the week went on. Mother Nature or global warming????  Thank you for such a memorable vacation. We will recommend it to everyone and show them my shutterfly book. We love Margarita Villa!!!!  Kathy K.

ONLINE REVIEW: Our family of 16 arrived at Villa Margarita in Soliman Bay with high expectations and were not disappointed! It was perfect for young children with the gradual pool entrance and bins of water toys and gear. The villa had extra beds in each room so children could sleep with parents. Doug and his crew were a pleasure to work with--always responding promptly. Their prior trip suggestions were very helpful. The snorkeling and kayaking were amazing. We enjoyed the ruins at Coba and the older children loved Xel-ha, I have recommended this group and property to several friends and would definitely return!

Dear Doug and Desiree,   Thank you so much for suggesting Villa Margarita.  It was perfect for our family—and Soliman Bay is a jewel!   With the reef protecting the bay, the children could play in the water very safely.  They snorkeled, kayaked and kite boarded until their hearts were content.  We had some pretty strong winds when we were there esp. on the first 3 days, so the kite boarders were very happy.  The house worked with those extra beds in the rooms.   Daveed the chef you suggested was great—very responsive and delicious food.  Your great instructions made our nighttime arrival smooth—even if Eurocar kept us waiting 2 hours for a minivan which never appeared.  We ended up taking 2 small cars. A million thanks and I will eagerly recommend your agency.  Betty G.

Hi Doug!  We have just arrived to Chile from our vacations (we went to USA after Mexico, visiting family).  We had a wonderful time at Villa Margarita. Definitely, our place in the world! The house is magnificent, absolutely comfortable. You can tell that the owners really care about the villa, they have all the possible amenities and commodities for a great stay.   Beside, Rosa was of great help, and an absolutely lovely woman!  We couldn't say goodbye to her because we had to run to the airport due to a change of flight, please let her know we are sorry we couldn't say goodbye. The chef, Roger, definitely to recommend on the future.  The best we had in this experiences, not only Mexico but other beaches in the Caribbean. We would love to write a review of this Villa at your site.  Please let us know how to do it.  Again, thanks for everything. Definitely you are our best ally in Mexico!   Best, Victoria  February 2014

Hi Doug, Just wanted you to know that the house is excellent, Rosa is fabulous, all provisions have been taken care of, the beach is white and beautiful, the cook is busy preparing our lunch, and we are basking in the warmth of both the sun and in having our whole family together for the week. Thanks for helping make this happen and all you did in preparation for us.  Larry B.  Jan. 2013

We visited Soliman Bay and stayed in Margarita Villa at the suggestion of a family friend in July 2011. They knew we were looking for something a little different than your typical "resort type" accommodations, yet a place that would be fun for our children (7 and 10). This was the best vacation we have ever taken! Soliman Bay seemed like it was out of a movie! We snorkelled, sailed, found hermit crabs and enjoyed gorgeous sunrise and sunsets. There was the most amazing place to eat near the south end of Soliman Bay. I wish I could remember the name, because everyone must go there! What looked like a little hut, turned out to be one of the BEST true Mexican meals (being right on the beach was also a huge plus)! The kids enjoyed resting in the hammocks and drinking Coke from small bottles! The salsa was delicious! The house, Margarita Villa, was also perfect for us! The pool was a HUGE benefit - the kids basically jumped in right out of bed in the morning. There was a lot of outside seating areas and we loved having all the doors and windows open. We stayed in the top bedroom which we lovingly nicknamed "the Tree House." The palapa roof, private balcony and overall decor was incredible. The caretakers were very sweet and did a great job. We also enjoyed going into Tulum for our daily "monkey ice cream." I really can't tell you the actual name, but it was brightly colored on the exterior and I became addicted to cinnamon gelato! The people of Tulum were very accommodating and never did we feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Not a day goes by without us talking about something we did, a place we visited or something we ate. From the smiling Soliman Bay gatekeepers, beautiful accommodations, relaxing beach and amazing adventures, we could not have planned for a better Mexican vacation. We will definitely be back to visit and we tell all of our friends that they need to visit at least once in their lifetime!!  Trip Advisor August 2011

HomeAway Online Review posted May 2011:  Doug guided us to this villa and it perfectly met our needs and expectations. We had a fabulous 13 family member vacation April 23-30, 2011, 8 adults plus children 8, 6, 4, 2 and 6 months. Margarita Villa Pros: good location, clean, beautiful beach, ocean swimming in a quiet bay, well furnished, comfortable, spacious, great swimming pool for children (and adults), beach walks, friendly/helpful staff on site, and the list goes on. No negatives at all. And this is not a negative, but there are some near shore weeds. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a family vacation villa and needing up to 5 five bedroom space and generous living space. Margarita Villa exceeded our expectations, and our entire Mexico experience was tremendous, no problems, great area, great food/restaurants. A real highlight was a Friday evening fresh fish dinner, tables set on the beach at a shore restaurant a 1/4 mile walk down the beach, watching the sunset. We felt close to heaven. This is a villa where you do your own cooking, dish washing, general cleaning, etc., not a villa where staff pampers you - exactly as we expected. That said, the villa was perfect for our family of 13, with a few wanna-be chefs, and everyone sharing the minimal responsibilities. Husband/wife staff with children live in a cabana on site, available and helpful, but weak on English, beds made up daily, kitchen cleaned up, pool maintained, and probably lots of little things that we may not have noticed. We left the staff a hefty tip, which they well deserved.

Doug - our vacation was perfect. The family found Margarita Villa to exceed expectations, and our entire Mexico experience was tremendous, no problems. We left the Villa in excellent condition. Thank you for your advice and guidance. I look forward to return.  Jim B.  April 2011

Dear Andra,  We just got back on Sunday from our trip and I wanted to take a minute to email you and to take you for helping to make this a dream vacation for us! Margarita Villa was everything we hoped it to be! It was absolutely beautiful! Rosa came over twice and was very helpful and very friendly. Jose (the cook) was great! The dishes he prepared for us were wonderful! We wished we had him do more than we did as it was so good! Paco and Sarah were very nice and helpful as well. It was heaven!   Thank you so very much for putting up with all my crazy questions and requests! You were great to work with!  Hopefully, we can return someday and stay there again or another wonderful villa!  All the best and thank you once again,  Candi Carpenter, June 2009

Our trip was awesome!  Did you know about the bedroom on the 3rd floor?  It was UNBELIEVABLE!  The view, the room, the deck, the sheets, the maid, the massage, pool, the food/chef were top-notch!  One of my best trips EVER!  Of course, part of it was probably because I had no kids with me!  We would love to go back with my mom and sisters.  Michelle M.  Jan. 2008
