Villa
Iguana |
![]() |
Villa Iguana is a wonderful 4000 sq. ft. (372 sq. mt.) Riviera Maya beachfront villa located just moments from Tulum on tranquil Soliman Bay. With a spectacular aquamarine blue Caribbean ocean at your door step and a fabulous white sand beach stretching off into the distance in both directions, Villa Iguana is a great choice for that very special Riviera Maya vacation. |
|
Villa Iguana is one of those Caribbean beach homes and locations that most people can only dream of ever being fortunate enough to experience. You know the images. Million dollar views from the bedrooms. A powdery white sand beach that is so perfect you can only wonder where all the people are. A protected bay teeming with fish & coral calling out for you to come in and play. Gin clear water that never gets cold. Shady coconut trees slowly dancing in the breeze. A paradise you thought could no longer exist in this hectic crazy world, but does at Villa Iguana. |

Nothing happens quickly here except how fast you will start to unwind. This is one of those places where you throw your shoes away within 10 minutes of your arrival. A place where priorities are modified quicker than the ice melts in your margarita. A place where manaņa becomes your mantra. |

On the trip down your mind is still wandering back to work making you anxious to arrive, get online and check in with work... But... once here and under the spell of Villa Iguana, you realize that it can wait until tomorrow.... Heck, on second thought, it can wait until next week. For the moment it seems more important to build a sandcastle with the kids, paddle a kayak over the water, wander the shoreline hunting for treasure or to simply climb into a hammock with a good book. |

Eating your meals al-fresco on the covered terrace. Basking in the sun until you are a native bronze color. Drifting off to sleep with the meditative lapping of the ocean on the shore. Family, friends, food and drink. These things all seem much more important than work at the moment. This is life at Villa Iguana. |

The entrance to Villa Iguana is through a gate from the parking area into a tranquil, walled garden paradise, lush with tropical plants and an aviary. A winding path wanders through the garden toward the villa. Close to the street side of the property is a little 2 storey house which is the on-site staff quarters. A little further and on the other side of the garden is the 'Casita' or Guest House. The roof of the Casita has a 'Mirador' with view of the jungle toward the back of the property. A light fabric shade filters the sunlight making this an ideal hideaway for some quiet time. |

The Casita is a cozy self contained Guest House located only steps away from the main house. It has King and Queen beds for those larger groups requiring the additional space or those wanting a little more privacy. A TV with satellite & DVD, small kitchen, dining table and private en-suite bathroom make this a very comfortable space for Mom and Dad with child. |

In the main villa on the ground floor you will find the first of the 4 bedrooms. It is air conditioned, has a King bed and is equipped with a Satellite TV, and DVD player and security safe. Like all of the bedrooms in the villa, it has a private terrace and ocean view. This one is covered and steps right out to the pool and ocean just beyond. Conveniently located adjacent to the bedroom is a bathroom with shower. |

On the second floor are two more bedrooms with great views of the ocean. Both are equipped with King beds and have wonderful private terraces with lounge chairs. These bedrooms have A/C, Satellite TV with DVD, and security safes. One bedroom has en suite bathroom with shower. The other bathroom/shower is adjacent to the bedroom. |

Up to the rooftop terrace and you will find the very special 4th bedroom. This cute bedroom with a Queen bed, million dollar view, thatched palapa roof, and en suite bathroom/shower is very private and very romantic. There is A/C in this room but the height, all of the windows, fan and openness to the ocean, ensure that a cooling tropical breeze will keep you comfortable without needing to use it. Also up on this level is a very private terrace with 2 lounge chairs for sunning, watching the sun rise/set or star gazing. A very magical and inviting place. |

Back down on the ground level, you will find the kitchen with everything necessary to prepare anything from a snack to a full course meal. Or if you want to do your cooking and dining outdoors, a charcoal grill is waiting next to the pool with table and chairs on a covered patio providing plenty of space for all to dine el fresco. |

The indoor dining room is open to the kitchen and living rooms so that conversation and activities flow effortlessly. Numerous windows, sliding glass doors and a vaulted ceiling with colorful dome, all add to the open airiness of the room. Colorful fabrics, bamboo furnishings, tasteful accessories, polished native limestone flooring, and colorful Mexican tiles, all contribute to create a bright, tropical ambience. |

We are happy to share a few GUESTS COMMENTS from past guests of this villa: Doug, We had another wonderful stay at Villa Iguana. Myner and Claudia were wonderful hosts and cooks, they treated us terrific. The beach was as incredible as always and the water was warm. Soliman Bay will be in our future again, I am sure. Thank you for helping with the reservation and getting things in order. Pat G. July 2013
Villa Iguana proved to be the
perfect setting for a family vacation with a group of all ages (7 -
experienced). The bay is secluded, quiet and stunning. We made great use
of the kayaks and made multiple snorkeling trips per day. Turtles, rays
and all kinds of fish are easily spotted in the bay. Make sure to check
out the really big turtles in nearby Akumal and hit the waves on the
beach at Tulum.
This is our third visit to Villa Iguana, and it's been another grand adventure where we felt as if we were part of "Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous" (SANS photographs and press) We had the honor of being Antonio's and Eladio's first family to cook for. Wow! Ask for the fish in garlic butter sauce or guajillo pepper sauce, fish or shrimp tacos and ceviche. For breakfast try huevos motuleņos for an authentic Mexican treat. We only made one trip to Tulum's San Francisco market - where we were daily customers last year - because Antonio did all the shopping for us. He even went to the liqueur store!! And cooked special meals (pasta, hamburgers and pancakes) for the 4 and 6 years old. The blender fired up the just round of pre-launch margaritas at noon, which Antonio served pool side. Aside from the quick jaunt to Tulum and a magical day at Xel-Ha we never left the house. Why bother, Paradise was right here. Thanks for sharing your home. Dalton & Cooper, Jan. 2011
We loved our stay at Iguana. The
place is beautiful; Susie and Ricardo (maid and caretaker) are
meticulous about cleaning, (inside and outside every day) and very
helpful people. They made us feel at home and taken care of. Antonio,
the exec chef, planned a wonderful menu for the week (taking our
preferences into account) and got great value in the costs of our food.
We spent $500 and ate like kings! He speaks English very well and is
knowledgeable and helpful about anything you need to know for touring
the area. Wilbur the cook had fresh fruit, juice and coffee ready every
morning (until everyone got up and then he made breakfast?), prepared
lunch (when we wanted) and dinner, (including cocktails when requested)
and stayed until the last dish was done at night.
Thanks
Mona, What can I say it was a vacation of a life time. The
house, location, Leslie and Jose were more than we ever expected! Everyday
that we have been home I think of something that we did or saw while at
Villa Iguana and smile. We all want to go back and are already looking
for dates next year. We also have recommended the site and Villa
Iguana to friends and family. Words can't express the memories we
will always have! Thank you, You and Doug were wonderful Nancy
